At Stagefab, fun can be as much a part of our business as hard work. We believe that a laugh is the tension breaker that can lead a good crew, through the mayhem, to a job well done.
So why counterweight Dominos? We received a shipment of counterweights that were not up to our standard. They arrived in the rain and needed cleaning. After cleaning, we lined them up to dry. A suggestion about tipping the weights like you do with dominos quickly came up. From there it snowballed.
Why not video tape it? Why not make it digital so we can e-mail it. Why not jazz it up? The result is what you see in our Theatrical release.
But, we could not stop with the Theatrical release. Our minds then spun to new heights of creativity. We needed the Directors cut. And then the Triple X version. (please be sure you are over 18 to view)
What you see in the video is 359 counterweights, measuring 6” by 13” by 2”, each weighing 36 lbs each. That’s 12,900 lbs of steel going over!
When we told our customers, suppliers and friends we were doing this, they often times broke out laughing. The general comment was 'you're nuts'. We may be, but it was a lot of fun to do.
